The subclass 190 visa is a permanent residence visa for points-test skilled workers who want​​​​ to work and live in Australia after being nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency.
 
To be able to apply for this visa you need to submit an expression of interest and then be invited through SkillSelect to apply.
 
You can be in or outside Australia when you apply and when the visa is granted.

What You Can Do

This is a permanent residence visa. It lets you and any family members who have also been granted this visa:

  • stay in Australia indefinitely
  • work and study in Australia
  • enrol in Medicare, Australia's scheme for health-related care and expenses
  • apply for Australian citizenship (if you are eligible)
  • sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence
  • travel to and from Australia for five years from the date the visa is granted (after that time, you will need a resident return visa or another visa to return to Australia)

Steps to apply for a work visa

Contact Visacorp to obtain a full assessment of your eligibility for an Australian visa.

Visacorp will advise in writing which visa is most suitable for you and confirm your eligibility for the chosen visa. A service agreement (i.e. quote & appointment letter) will be provided to you for your consideration and acceptance.

Once Visacorp is appointed we will guide you through the visa preparation process so that the application is presented to the Department of Home Affairs so that it stands the best chance of success

Submit visa application to the Department of Home Affairs along with all certified documents

Await decision from the Department of Home Affairs.

Points Test

You must score at least 60 points against points test factors to be eligible to be invited to apply for this visa.

Points are awarded on the ba​sis of the factors listed in the following table. All factors are assessed as they are at the time you are invited to apply for this visa.
